Instructions

     To begin your soil search, click on the green "Start WSS" button at the top.  After reading the instructions, you can then hide the help box by clicking the upside-down "?" in the top right corner.  Start your search by selecting "Address" or "County" under "Select Criteria" on the left and then click the gray "View" button.  Zoom (with the magnifying glasses) and use the "hand" to pan around on the aerial photography until you find the area you're interested in.  Then click on one of the "AOI" buttons (one creates squares only and the other makes odd shapes).  Click and drag around the area on the map that you would like soils information for (less than 10,000 acres) to select that location.  After the blue striped area appears on your map, you click the "Soil Map" tab at the top of the page and your new soil map will appear with descriptions for the soils in the selected area.
